About The Position
This professional Environmental Program Specialist 1/2/3 position within the Division of Spill Prevention and Response is part of the Contaminated Sites Brownfields Program. As part of a team of three staff, the position conducts outreach to, and engagement with EPA, Tribal Response Programs, tribes, native corporations, and communities to assist in cleanup of property impacting a community reuse project as part of the DEC's State and Tribal Response Program (Brownfields). This position develops and provides trainings and presentations on technical and policy-related topics, oversees contracts for environmental cleanup, and works with individual entities on cleaning up their contaminated sites. In addition, this position oversees the characterization and cleanup of a small caseload of contaminated sites not associated with the Brownfields Program.
