Role description: Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Professional (Engineer, Scientist or Geologist) to join our Resilience Field Portfolio Solutions Team in Tampa, Florida. While this position requires both field and office work, the candidate should expect to spend 70% to 90% of their time in the field. This role will sit within the larger Global Resilience Business Area. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Requirements

  • BA or BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or related field
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Exhibit independent thinking
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting as well as independently and remotely
  • Ability to be adaptable, creative problem solvers who can work collaboratively as a team member
  • Good driving record
  • Willing to work outside in all weather conditions and for extended periods
  • Field work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with either hazardous or non-hazardous substances and/or wastes.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands associated with performing field work, including lifting heavy equipment, working in a standing position for extended periods of time, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FDEP environmental regulations and SOPs
  • Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40 HR / 8 HR training
  • Previous industry, consulting, or regulatory internship experience
  • 1 year experience in the field is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Overseeing drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, subcontractor oversight, construction and operation and maintenance of remediation systems, vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys, among other tasks.
  • Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
  • Task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts.
  • Conduct field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling in the field in accordance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Regional business travel for up to 3-4 days per week on average. Several times per year, travel may be required within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time.

  • The salary range for this position is $58,320-87,480. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
