About The Position

We have an immediate opening for a regular full-time Environmental Planner to work a hybrid remote schedule based out of our downtown Tempe, Arizona office. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Planning, Anthropology, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Studies, or closely related field.
  • 2+ years of related Environmental Planning experience in a consulting or agency setting.
  • Strong writing skills associated with natural resources and/or NEPA.
  • Knowledge of environmental planning focused on federal regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to synthesize and present complex ideas through text and graphics.
  • Ability to multitask and be able to adjust to daily changes in priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to work in the office 3 days per week on average, as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting new and existing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects on public lands and communities throughout Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah, New Mexico, and other western states.
  • Assist with Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) projects.
  • Assisting with multi-disciplinary projects such as transportation, electric utility, and renewable energy projects for federal, state, and local land managers.
  • Researching and writing sections of NEPA documents, management plans, existing condition/environmental considerations reports, supporting public involvement activities, and preparing meeting summaries.
  • Occasional out-of-state travel to visit project sites and attend public outreach events.
  • Provide administrative support for environmental projects.
  • Other responsibilities as required, commensurate with experience.
