About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Environmental Planner for our Atlanta, GA office. Join our Advisory Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact Contribute to high-quality technical deliverables on projects. Attend and participate in project and client meetings. Assist with proposal preparation and other business development activities. Develop an understanding of project finances. Help build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, transportation planning, environmental science, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in NEPA process coordination and documentation for transportation and other infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of FHWA NEPA policies and procedures and Georgia DOT environmental procedures and guidebooks, Plan Development Process (PDP), and TPro/P6.
  • Familiarity with agency consultation and other regulatory processes (e.g., Section 106, Section 4(f), Section 7).
  • Strong self‑management skills with the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt within a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office productivity and collaboration software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, virtual meeting, and communication tools).
  • Ability to meet project-specific schedules that may occasionally extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to projects sites and navigate uneven or rough terrain on foot.

Nice To Haves

  • GIS proficiency.
  • Master’s Degree in relevant field of study.
  • Active involvement in local professional organization.
  • Progress toward or interest in pursuing professional certification (e.g., AICP, CEP).

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to high-quality technical deliverables on projects.
  • Attend and participate in project and client meetings.
  • Assist with proposal preparation and other business development activities.
  • Develop an understanding of project finances.
  • Help build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and partners.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating environmental planning tasks, schedules, and deliverables, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and technical subject matter experts.
  • Experience conducting public and stakeholder outreach activities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas orally and in writing.
  • Ability to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  • Ability to meet project-specific schedules that may occasionally extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to projects sites and navigate uneven or rough terrain on foot.
