About The Position
In this role as a mid-level Planner / Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of advancing environmental stewardship, energy transformation, and sustainability initiatives for our clients. Your primary focus will be on leading California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) permitting processes through the California Energy Commission (CEC) and/or California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). This is a critical position that supports the maintenance and replacement of energy infrastructure, renewable energy projects, grid reconfiguration, and broader energy transformation efforts. As the world faces unprecedented challenges, your expertise will help clients adapt and thrive in this evolving landscape. You will leverage your technical and management experience in natural resources and environmental planning to review projects, develop comprehensive plans, and execute effective permitting strategies. Your leadership will be essential in realizing energy transformation, ensuring safer infrastructure operations, healthier communities, and the protection of our natural resources. Environmental impacts are now a primary consideration in social and economic decisions surrounding infrastructure development, and your role will be pivotal in guiding these decisions. The Power and Energy industry is currently experiencing significant disruption, with traditional value chains and regulatory frameworks being challenged. You will be based in one of our California offices, where you will manage projects and programs aimed at minimizing environmental impacts while accelerating change through renewable energy and energy infrastructure initiatives. As a Planner / Project Manager, you will lead environmental permitting efforts, ensuring that project development aligns with client objectives and internal financial goals. Your analytical and writing skills will be crucial as you develop high-quality deliverables for clients. Your project management responsibilities will encompass permit strategy, impact avoidance and minimization, permit applications, client communication, technical memos, and environmental compliance documentation. You will motivate and direct project teams while collaborating with experienced project delivery and technical leaders to facilitate your career growth and project priorities.
