Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Environmental, Health and Safety; Occupational Health and Safety, Chemical or Bio-systems Engineering or a related field preferred) OR 5 years of relative experience.
  • Minimum of 2 yrs relative experience.
  • Experience in managing environmental compliance including reporting and record keeping, environmental permitting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and direction for day-to-day compliance with applicable air, hazardous waste, wastewater and storm water permits, plans, regulations, etc.
  • Ability to interpret environmental laws and permit requirements, stay abreast of the changing regulatory landscape and analyze the various options for complying with new regulations and permit requirements.
  • Coordinate the reporting and record keeping activities for facility’s permits and other environmental regulatory reporting requirements and corporate sustainability data tracking requirements.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for permitting and implementation of environmental regulations on various new or developing projects
  • Update and deliver environmental training programs as required to ensure compliance with regulations and permits
  • Interface with Environmental Regulatory Agencies, Corporate environmental health and safety leadership & lead inspections and audits.
  • Maintain and update Hazardous Waste Management program.
  • Develop and conduct periodic Environmental audits and assessments, document findings and assisting plant leadership in resolving discrepancies.
  • Lead plant in the design and or improvement of processes that minimize environmental hazards and reduce waste as a primary objective
  • Lead ISO-14001 Sustaining.
  • Evaluate risks & incidents and identify areas where costs and loss can be improved.
  • Development of environmental training materials.
  • Conduct training where area subject matter expert is needed
  • Implement processes to comply with the obligations of the permits, plans and regulations.
