The Environmental Department Manager will be entrusted with the following critical responsibilities: Lead a specialized team of environmental scientists, engineers, and permit specialists focused on NJ-transportation projects for agencies such as NJDEP, NJHPO, and other approval bodies. Manage consulting projects, ensuring strict adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. Implement and utilize AECOM's project management systems and software. Oversee field and data collection efforts, guaranteeing accuracy and regulatory compliance. Provide expert support for design-bid-build and design-build projects. Conduct essential client visits and field activities, including after-hours meetings as required. Prepare and oversee regulatory permit applications, including wetland delineations and land use permitting. Develop and rigorously review technical work products, including environmental documents and technical studies. Ensure all projects meet or exceed New Jersey Transportation client requirements. Uphold and enforce high-quality work standards and promote a robust Health & Safety culture. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends to ensure organizational competitiveness. Provide mentorship to junior and mid-level staff, fostering their professional development. Coordinate and manage interdisciplinary teams across local and regional offices. Strategically select, train, and develop technical personnel to enhance team capabilities. Spearhead and support critical business development activities, including proposal development and client management. Collaborate effectively with local and national business leaders to drive organizational growth and success.
