About The Position
The Arizona Attorney General's Office Environmental Protection Unit is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Paralegal to play a vital role in addressing pressing environmental issues impacting Arizona's communities and resources. In this dynamic role, you will directly support our attorneys in pursuing complex environmental litigation aimed at safeguarding Arizona's environment. A passion for environmental law and a strong desire to protect Arizona's environment are essential. Experience and/or knowledge of environmental law and environmental issues is preferred. This position may be eligible for partial remote work, providing flexibility while ensuring that the critical work of the unit continues effectively. As an Environmental Paralegal, your responsibilities will include the timely and accurate preparation of a wide variety of legal correspondence, briefs, pleadings, motions, legal notices, and forms. You will draft and review legal memoranda that analyze complex legal and factual issues, performing substantive legal research to support the attorneys in their cases. Additionally, you will prepare discovery documents and file appropriate discovery documentation and pleadings with the court, ensuring compliance with legal standards and deadlines. Managing the disclosure process in complex cases involving voluminous documents will be a key part of your role. This includes organizing the documents, bates stamping, redacting, creating the disclosure index, and conducting document review and preparation of discovery materials for trial cases. You will also prepare for filing with the court complex disclosure statements, summary reports, and exhibits under the supervision of the attorney. Maintaining legal records, files, and the case management system will be essential to ensure that all information is accurate and accessible for ongoing cases.
