About The Position
The Environmental Operator is first and foremost responsible for ensuring the safety of themselves and the team and helping to lead in the continuous improvement of the safety practices across the division. In addition, the Environmental Operator is responsible for ensuring compliance with State and Federal environmental regulations through the operation and maintenance of baghouses, water systems, and all other associated equipment. The Environmental Operator also conducts various inspections, visible emission observations, spill response, housekeeping, and other environmentally related tasks. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
