About The Position

The position requires a working knowledge of application equipment and modern farm equipment, as well as an understanding of regulatory requirements for nutrient management. Responsibilities include application rate calculations, calibration calculations, record-keeping, and manure sampling protocols. The role also involves knowledge and adherence to safety and environmental policies, conducting facility inspections to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and developing GIS maps using ARCMAP. Additionally, the position provides technical support for the development of comprehensive nutrient management plans.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of application equipment and modern farm equipment.
• Knowledge of fundamentals of regulatory requirements for nutrient management.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs and handle exposure to manure, dust, odors, and noise for extended periods.

• Experience with agricultural software and GPS systems.
• Customer service and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility inspections to ensure Federal/state regulatory compliance.
• Develop and comprehend GIS maps using ARCMAP.
• Perform technical support for the development of comprehensive nutrient management plans.
• Travel overnight on a seasonal basis to remote locations in the Midwest.
