About The Position

As the Environmental Monitoring Team Lead - QC Microbiology, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing environmental monitoring activities in GMP-controlled cleanroom environments. You will guide a team of analysts, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support the integrity of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes through rigorous microbiological testing and oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of microbiology lab experience
  • 2 years of leadership experience
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction
  • No cosmetics (makeup, false lashes, etc.)
  • Short, unpolished, and unadorned nails
  • No jewelry (except medical alert items or one smooth ring)
  • Hair and facial hair must be fully contained within PPE

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Life Sciences or related field
  • 5+ years of microbiology lab experience
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • GMP and LIMS experience
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform environmental monitoring (EM) and compressed gas sampling in classified cleanroom areas.
  • Collect water and clean steam samples from manufacturing systems per SOPs.
  • Maintain and manage laboratory inventory, including media, reagents, and supplies.
  • Utilize LIMS for sample tracking and data entry.
  • Prepare and submit investigation reports in compliance with GMP and regulatory expectations.
  • Adhere to scheduled EM tasks (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and ensure team compliance.
  • Meet physical demands of the role, including lifting (25+ lbs), standing, walking, and equipment handling.
  • Supervise and support the daily activities of the EM team.
  • Participate in candidate interviews and contribute to hiring decisions.
  • Lead onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Conduct peer data reviews and ensure data integrity.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and calibration schedules.
  • Provide weekend and overtime support as needed.
