About The Position

Leidos' Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing is seeking an Environmental Lab Technician to support our Electronics Manufacturing Facility. This position involves conducting environmental stress screening tests, operating and maintaining testing equipment, and assisting with electrical testing to monitor product performance. The role also includes documentation and reporting of test results, as well as equipment maintenance and calibration.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/ GED with 3-5 years of prior relevant work experience in a testing laboratory or similar environment, with focus on environmental or electrical testing
  • Familiarity with environmental testing methods
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment such as thermal chambers
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits and testing instruments (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including test plans and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a final secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental stress screening (ESS) tests, including vibration and thermal assessments in accordance with Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP)
  • Operate and maintain environmental testing equipment
  • Follow test plans to develop and execute ESS profiles tailored to specific product requirements
  • Operate manual forklift to load and unload units into ESS chambers
  • Assist with electrical testing during ESS to monitor product performance and identify potential issues
  • Use appropriate tools and instruments, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, to measure and record electrical parameters
  • Review and interpret test plans to ensure proper setup and execution of ESS procedures
  • Record detailed observations and test data during ESS procedures
  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing test results, including any anomalies or failures
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on ESS chambers and other testing equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Coordinate calibration activities with external vendors and internal teams to maintain equipment accuracy and compliance with standards
