About The Position

CalPortland is seeking a summer intern for the Environmental Group. This internship is ideal for a student interested in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Compliance, and Permitting/Sustainability.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Excellent communication.
• Timeliness.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience or internship in the construction or building materials industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Cement Plant environmental compliance as needed.
• Preparation of reports required by environmental permits to state, local, or federal agencies.
• Conduct compliance inspections.
• Learn about mining, cement manufacturing processes, process and environmental monitoring equipment, environmental regulations, inspections, working with contractors, etc.
• Interface with company lobbyists, management, and legislative staff.
• Perform plant tasks as assigned.

Benefits

• $20.50-$27.00/hr DOE
