This internship will have the unique opportunity to gain experience within several environmental focus areas including habitat restoration, water quality, clean air and climate, remediation and resiliency planning. The intern will perform a variety of duties that include, but are not limited to, stewardship maintenance activities at the Port's habitat mitigation sites, updating GIS data, reviewing grant applications and environmental projects, supporting community engagement, conducting research and data entry. Additionally, the intern will gain an understanding of compensatory mitigation including how to calculate mitigation costs, permitting and habitat construction and initiatives to clean up contaminated land, improve water quality and reduce emissions. The position will have the opportunity to participate in community engagement efforts for the Clean Air Implementation Plan update and at other community events. This internship is expected to start on or around June 1st for up to 3 months. Hours will be Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week between 8 am and 5 pm.
