UVA Environmental Resources is seeking an Environmental Inspector to join our team. The Environmental Inspector will provide technical assistance focused on stormwater management and pollution prevention practices in facility construction, operations and maintenance projects, and in support of UVA’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit program. The Environmental Inspector will perform multiple tasks that include inspecting construction sites and post-construction stormwater management facilities; providing guidance to staff and contractors on pollution prevention practices; and investigating potential illicit discharges. Other duties may also be assigned. Environmental Resources provides university-wide services pertaining to permit and compliance management for multiple regulated sectors including air, construction activity, oil storage, stormwater, and wastewater. Environmental Resources works closely with the Facilities Management Department who is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair, and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure, and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.
