Your Opportunity + Impact LDG is currently seeking a qualified Environmental Inspector for construction projects in or near Albany, New York. This position involves reviewing, monitoring, and inspecting erosion and sedimentation best management practices and environmental permit related items, during and after construction. Project documentation requires detailed reports with basic computer skills.

Requirements

  • GED or high school diploma required.
  • Two to three + years experience with outdoor construction activities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working on construction sites or with contractors and/or working with erosion and sedimentation best management practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, observes, and documents construction activities and site conditions for various types of construction projects.
  • Inspects and documents the condition of various erosion control devices including but not limited to silt sock, waterbars, and seeding and mulching.
  • Uses various computer software programs to document observations and create inspection reports.
  • Interacts with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, government agency representatives, and other parties.
  • Gathers necessary data and recommends an action plan to mitigate identified issues.
  • Communicates information, responds to inquiries, and helps resolve field issues to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Ensure both client and in-house quality assurance and quality control processes are followed.
  • Work could include long field days in adverse weather conditions and traversing long distances in difficult terrain.
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining required certifications.
