About The Position

EnviroScience, Inc. is seeking a full-time inspector to conduct field inspections and compliance monitoring across various sites including industrial, commercial, construction, and residential areas. The role involves ensuring adherence to environmental regulations, inspecting facilities for compliance with air and water quality standards, and monitoring construction projects for compliance with environmental permits. The inspector will also be responsible for data collection and analysis, preparing detailed reports, and interpreting environmental regulations. This position requires strong communication skills to relay findings and recommendations to onsite personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Degree.
  • Entry-level position with no prior experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of construction techniques, soils, and an understanding of stormwater runoff.
  • Knowledge of the Ohio EPA Construction General Permit (OHC00006) and construction Best Management Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field inspections of industrial, commercial, construction, and residential sites to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Inspect facilities for adherence to air quality, water quality, hazardous waste management, and other environmental standards.
  • Monitor construction and development projects for compliance with environmental permits and mitigation plans.
  • Collect and analyze environmental samples, including soil, water, air, and biological specimens.
  • Use monitoring equipment to measure environmental parameters such as pollutant levels and noise levels.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, sample collections, photographs, and monitoring activities.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
  • Document violations and prepare notices of non-compliance or enforcement actions.
  • Assist in the preparation of environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance reports.
  • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental regulations and standards.
  • Provide guidance to businesses, developers, and the public on environmental compliance requirements or design criteria.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and planners to address environmental issues and develop mitigation strategies.
