Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Valid Colorado driver's license and personal insured vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and investigate sanitary conditions for compliance at various facilities.
• Enforce State and Weld County laws and regulations and initiate appropriate legal action under supervision.
• Investigate complaints and determine their validity, often in conjunction with local, State, and Federal agencies.
• Utilize technical equipment during inspections and write summary reports and correspondence.
• Explain findings of investigations to owners and managers of establishments.
• Enter data into various computer programs and maintain accurate records.
• Respond to customer questions and complaints, referring complex inquiries to appropriate staff members.
• Perform on-call duty on a rotating basis with other Environmental Health Staff.
