About The Position
The position is located in the Environmental Health Division of the Health and Human Services Department. Under general supervision, the role involves performing technical public health work related to the education and enforcement of public health laws and regulations concerning environmental health, housing, and property maintenance. Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections, investigating environmental complaints, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards in food service establishments and other buildings. The incumbent will also assist in preparing division-related projects and public health educational initiatives, maintain statistical records, and prepare reports and correspondence. The position may require independent performance of duties, including in emergency situations, and may involve training Environmental Health Sanitarian Trainees.
