About The Position

What You’ll Do: Manage hazardous chemicals and waste, including handling, labeling, staging, documentation, and compliance with Title 22 and RCRA. Maintain chemical inventories, SDS access, EH&S supplies, safety postings, and compliance tracking tools. Conduct safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and support environmental programs (air, wastewater, stormwater, permits). Respond to spills, emergencies, drills, alarms, and serve on the Emergency Response Team across Thousand Oaks and Camarillo. Coordinate vendor services, support Facilities, maintain equipment readiness, and drive between sites as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of chemistry, hazardous materials, and relevant EH&S regulations (OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, DTSC).
  • Ability to identify occupational exposures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Experience with hazardous material/waste handling, safety audits, and emergency response (HAZWOPER preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across all organizational levels.
  • High attention to detail, accurate documentation, and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and SharePoint; able to obtain required EH&S certifications.
  • Physically able to perform inspections, wear PPE, and lift up to 50 lbs; holds valid CA driver’s license.
  • U.S. citizenship due to access restrictions.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in a related field and 3–5 years EH&S experience in CA industrial/manufacturing/R&D environments preferred.
  • Experience with hazardous material/waste handling, safety audits, and emergency response (HAZWOPER preferred).
