About The Position

The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing and administering safety, accident prevention, and occupational health programs across the company and its subsidiaries. This role aims to prevent industrial injuries and illnesses while ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations. The specialist will also oversee physical security for company facilities and support the Colorado region.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
  • 1-3 years of administrative/clerical experience.
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • 3-5 years of technical or mechanical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or similar training/certification.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and administer company-wide safety and occupational health programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Represent the company at various meetings, committees, and conferences.
  • Provide data for bid packages and pre-qualification processes.
  • Advise and counsel management on policies and laws.
  • Perform personnel sampling and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure adequate training related to safety and health.
  • Assist in developing and directing the company's accident-prevention program.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for accident investigations.
  • Monitor changes in governmental regulations and advise management on compliance.
