About The Position

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Program Manager at Republic Services is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert, providing guidance and support to various teams within the company to promote a culture of safety and compliance. The EHS Program Manager analyzes regulations, delivers training, and collaborates with internal departments to mitigate EHS risks and enhance safety initiatives.

Requirements

• 4 - 7 years of overall relevant work experience.
• Experience in safety policy and procedure development, loss control, OSHA, and DOT compliance.
• Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations, specifically OSHA and DOT.
• General knowledge of environmental regulations including RCRA and CERCLA.
• Skilled in recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SharePoint.

Nice To Haves

• HAZWOPER 40 hour certification (Preferred)
• OSHA 30 hour certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Analyze regulations and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
• Deliver EHS recommendations to appropriate personnel within the organization.
• Support communication strategies related to EHS safety initiatives.
• Provide technical expertise on EHS regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit to identify EHS risk exposure.
• Support Contractor Qualification Programs and third-party medical management vendor.
• Identify areas needing additional health and safety training or policy clarification.
• Assist in developing the policy and procedure manual and EHS course materials.
• Respond to employee concerns regarding EHS compliance.
• Develop relationships with various departments to foster a culture of safety.
• Ensure periodic safety activities are performed at the corporate office.
• Serve as system administrator for the EHS database.
