The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Summer Intern will support key strategic initiatives that strengthen supplier safety, compliance, and procurement alignment. This internship offers hands‑on experience at the intersection of EHS, Procurement, and Supplier Management, with a focus on building scalable, sustainable safety processes. The intern will lead or support two primary projects: Development and execution of a Master Services Agreement (MSA) for safety‑related products, and Evaluation and mapping of the contractor safety prequalification process, with emphasis on how safety is integrated into supplier selection. This role is ideal for a student interested in EHS systems, supply chain risk management, or corporate safety strategy.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Environmental Health & Safety Occupational Safety Industrial Engineering Supply Chain Management Business, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to document processes clearly and communicate findings effectively
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and navigating ambiguity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Interest in safety systems, supplier management, or operational risk
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

  • Coursework or experience related to EHS, procurement, or supply chain operations
  • Familiarity with process mapping, risk assessment, or compliance frameworks
  • Experience working with contracts, vendors, or suppliers (academic or internship experience)

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of a Master Services Agreement (MSA) for our North America Sites covering: Safety Shoes Prescription Safety Glasses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Partner with EHS, Procurement, and Legal teams to: Define safety, quality, and compliance requirements Identify incumbent and potential suppliers Align on supplier standards and service expectations Conduct a structured Supplier Evaluation and Scorcard Assist in documenting current and future‑state processes related to supplier engagement Help evaluate supplier offerings and alignment with EHS standards Contribute to implementation planning and communication materials
  • Analyze the current contractor and supplier prequalification process from a safety perspective
  • Map the end‑to‑end relationship between Procurement and Supplier Selection, including: When and where supplier selection decisions are made Who owns each step in the process How safety requirements factor into selection and approval
  • Identify gaps, risks, or opportunities to better integrate EHS criteria into procurement workflows
  • Develop clear process maps and recommendations to improve safety visibility and accountability
  • Support documentation of findings for EHS and Procurement leadership
