About The Position

Develop regional strategies aligned with global initiatives and local requirements. Provide regular performance reports and recommend goals and improvement initiatives. Monitor regulatory changes and update programs accordingly. Team Leadership: Mentor and lead the regional EHSS team, fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. Risk Assessment & Audits: Oversee risk assessments, audits, and inspections. Recommend and track corrective actions to mitigate risks. Training & Communication: Develop and deliver EHSS training programs. Communicate policies and best practices effectively across all levels. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with site leaders, business units, and global EHSS teams to align strategies and share best practices. Environmental Remediation & Strategy: Manage remediation efforts, develop risk-based plans, and maintain environmental liability reserves. External Reporting & Compliance: Provide environmental data for reporting and support regulatory audits. Due Diligence: Lead EHSS due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and real estate transactions. Hazardous Waste Management: Develop and enforce hazardous waste policies and ensure vendor compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years in EHSS roles, preferably in a multinational or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of EHSS regulations in the Americas and global standards.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel regionally as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience negotiating with regulatory agencies and managing compliance issues.
  • Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 frameworks.
  • Awareness of global EHSS trends and emerging regulations.
