The Environmental Health Safety and Risk Program Coordinator serves as a key operation and compliance lead within the EHS and Risk Management office. This position supports both the University’s insurance and risk management functions and its environmental health and safety programs. Responsibilities include managing insurance renewals and claims, reviewing contracts and certificates of insurance, coordinating core safety workflows, and maintaining compliance documentation. This position supports Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which operates residential campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida and Prescott, Arizona, as well as a robust Worldwide campus network serving students across the globe. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to streamline workflows, support regulatory compliance, and enhance risk mitigation efforts across the institution.

  • Assist with administration of minor claims management, renewal tasks, and Certificates of Insurance.
  • Serve as the point of contact for insurance brokers regarding non-critical communications and duties.
  • Maintain and audit insurance documentation and claims records for audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Track and monitor risk-related obligations such as renewal dates, reporting deadlines, and corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
  • Support risk management processes through administrative organization and appropriate escalation.
  • Track costs associated with risk and insurance activities and analyze trends for KPI reporting.
  • Coordinate and document risk-related projects from initiation to completion, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and stakeholder communications are met.
  • Support delivery of risk-related training, briefings, and resources to stakeholders as needed.
  • Coordinate projects involving risk, insurance, and EHS topics, managing timelines, deliverables, and cross-departmental engagement.
  • Maintain and administer the Safety Management System, including performance metrics, SOPs, training materials, and compliance documentation.
  • Support EHS operations through documentation and communication of inspections, safety campaigns, lab walkthroughs, and event safety logistics.
  • Oversee procurement and inventory of supplies while identifying cost efficiencies.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership, regulatory bodies, and external partners as needed.
  • Maintain discretion with sensitive information while supporting departmental priorities.
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in risk management, insurance coordination, or EHS support in higher education, corporate, or public sector environments.
  • Experience analyzing data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
