Based in Brenham, TX, you will lead environment, safety, and health efforts to drive compliance, prevention, and culture. You serve as a critical business partner in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site’s EHS programs to mitigate risk, prevent injuries, meet regulatory requirements, and protect people, property, and the environment. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Manage ongoing EHS activities for maintaining compliance & risk management programs including facilitating EHS training, coordinating drills, maintaining EHS records, coordinating routine inspections, and more.
  • Manage EHS requirements for existing permits and operational environmental compliance (i.e. EPA, TCEQ, etc.).
  • Maintain EHS performance measures and advise organization on trends on focused improvement needs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of initiatives to continue building a culture of EHS ownership in compliance & risk management.
  • Lead various teams & projects to build engagement and shared ownership of EHS compliance, culture and risk management (safety committee, project improvement teams, emergency response, etc.).
  • Support teams with root cause analysis for incident and near miss investigations to understand root cause and take action to apply learning into improvement action.
  • Partner with operations & engineering to proactively assess risks and controls through active participation in risk assessments, equipment design reviews, etc.
  • Perform EHS training for new hires and employees, as needed.
  • Serve as the site liaison with regulators & provide expertise related to environmental compliance and occupational health & safety.
  • Provide emergency response support.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three (3) years of experience as a practitioner in an Environment, Health and Safety role, with applied knowledge of relevant EPA, OSHA, state regulatory (TCEQ) and industry standards
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, or related
  • Professional certification preferred – CSP, ASP, GSP, CHMM, CIH
