About The Position

Kenner, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing programs that protect employees and the environment within a manufacturing facility. This role balances technical regulatory compliance with strategic leadership to foster a proactive culture of prevention and continuous improvement. Essential Duties: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, LDEQ, parish, and municipal requirements Prepare and submit permit applications and manage all required regulatory reporting Develop, implement, and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Powered Industrial Truck, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) programs Champion and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for workplace accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents to prevent recurrence Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for employees and contractors Manage environmental programs including waste management, air emissions, and wastewater quality, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting Lead emergency management planning, including fire protection programs and emergency response drills Promote and sustain a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across all levels of the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline required
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulatory standards
  • Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience conducting audits and incident investigations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and promote a proactive safety culture
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment while on the production floor
  • Ability to respond to emergencies, including navigating stairs and accessing various areas of the facility

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications highly preferred, including CSP (Certified Safety Professional), EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), and FA/CPR/AED
