About The Position
Daikin Applied is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety Intern to join our dynamic EHS team in Staunton, VA. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in the field of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) within a leading organization known for its innovative HVAC solutions for commercial and industrial applications. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to own a meaningful, real-life project within the EHS Department that can directly create a positive impact on Daikin Applied's HVAC Development. This role is designed for undergraduate students who are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree and are looking to gain practical experience in a supportive and engaging environment. During your internship, you will complete basic Industrial Hygiene monitoring, including noise assessment and ergonomic force measurements. You will also conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations and operations, perform basic risk assessments such as Job Safety Analysis to identify hazards, and implement effective controls. Participation in EHS inspections, including wastewater and stormwater management, will be part of your responsibilities, along with improving protocols and checklists for process improvement. Additionally, you will assist in New Hire Environmental Health and Safety Orientation, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of EHS practices within the company. This internship is not only an opportunity to develop your skills but also to build relationships with other students and professionals in the field.
