About The Position

The EH&S Engineer ensures compliance with all federal, state and local environmental and transportation regulations and is responsible for all aspects of the site environmental program and for implementation of internal environmental programs. This role will have safety responsibility as well as environmental

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or university is required (Environmental sciences, engineering, chemistry or other technical discipline is preferred, or equivalent years of work experience)
  • 5-7 years of Environmental Management experience is required

Nice To Haves

  • Regulatory and permitting experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees safety and environmental compliance for the Pearl River facility including day-to-day operations, incoming spent carbons, air permit, wastewater discharge and stormwater requirements
  • Responsible for OSHA process safety management standards
  • Participates in daily plant meetings, Inspects the plant daily, provides environmental training to employees
  • Implement Calgon Carbon Kuraray corporate safety and environmental requirements
  • Performs daily site inspections, interacts with employees, contractors and management to assure day-to-day operational safety
  • Supports an accident-free culture
  • Performs Behavioral Based Safety Observations
  • Prepares all annual and periodic environmental reports for the Pearl River facility including but not limited to all SARA reporting, DMR, annual air permit certifications, deviation reports and others as required
  • Prepares permit renewal applications and modifications for air water and waste permits
  • Develop and implement environmental programs for the Pearl River facility
  • Other EH&S projects to Support the Pearl River facility or other Calgon Carbon location as assigned by the Director of EH&S
