About The Position

Sofidel Tissue, a global leader in tissue product manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. This critical role ensures compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations while fostering a safe and sustainable workplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field (required).
  • 2 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
  • Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations, including OSHA and EPA, while maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures to enhance workplace safety and environmental sustainability.
  • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and inspections, recommending and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide EHS training to employees at all levels, including new hire orientations and contractor onboarding.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with management to reduce environmental impact and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the floor to observe operations, provide feedback, and promote a culture of safety.
  • Develop and manage emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure readiness for emergencies.
  • Support corporate and facility reporting systems, ensuring alignment with EHS metrics and goals.
