About The Position

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager for Project Kuiper at Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is a pivotal role based in Redmond, Washington. This position is responsible for developing, communicating, training, managing, auditing, and improving the EHS performance of Amazon's Kuiper initiative, which aims to enhance global broadband access through a constellation of satellites. The EHS Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. This individual contributor role requires a strong background in industrial hygiene, occupational health, and environmental science, with a focus on aerospace research and development and complex manufacturing environments. The EHS Manager will conduct investigations into working conditions to prevent occupational diseases and industrial health hazards, particularly concerning chemical exposure, noise, lasers, and other potential worker health risks. Collaboration with colleagues across various disciplines is essential to ensure effective program implementation and integration of safety and health risk management into key business operations. The role also involves performing data analytics on EHS information to drive improvement initiatives and promoting EHS awareness throughout the organization through effective communication and programming. In addition to managing environmental permits and ensuring compliance with local regulations, the EHS Manager will develop and implement training programs to engage all levels of Kuiper teams on EHS responsibilities and compliance requirements. This position requires staying up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations affecting EHS and providing technical assistance and support for safety and environmental issues. The EHS Manager will also assist senior leaders in understanding the business impacts of EHS issues, enabling informed decision-making and resource allocation.
