About The Position

We are a continuous casting aluminum rolling mill who established operations in 1984 and is located in Fort Lupton Colorado, 35 miles north of downtown Denver. We care about our environment, our people, and our community. We’re honored to be selected by the Department of Energy to receive up to $22.3 million in investment supporting our Nexcast Mini Mill and other breakthrough projects which will steer the aluminum industry toward a greener, decarbonized future. Job Summary: As EHS Coordinator you will train employees on EHS policies and practices, conduct regular inspections, generate environmental, health and safety assessment reports and ensure that all guidelines and regulations are followed. Specific duties include but are not limited to: · Interacting with multiple levels of employees to define and execute EHS goals and objectives. · Training employees in both formal and informal settings on EHS policies and best practices. · Conducting inspections, risk assessments, and identifying hazards and abnormal conditions. · Providing solutions and intervention strategies for potential EHS hazards. · Monitoring operational processes and employee engagement activities. · Generating assessment documentation; incident, accident and environmental reporting; and safety manuals. · Reporting findings, updates and other communications to management as well as applicable regulatory agencies. · Ongoing personal enrichment to stay abreast of the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations and best practices and using gained knowledge to continue to improve EHS metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, industrial engineering, safety management or similar program.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as an EHS professional in a manufacturing environment preferably in metals manufacturing
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, ANSI, and Colorado Department of Health and Environment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams to reach a common goal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Strong leadership and training abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency when responding to situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to readily adapt to a changing environment
  • Capable of working the days/hours necessary to support a facility that operates 24/7.
  • Ability to spend 75% of time on the plant floor including walking, standing in varying temperatures as well as climbing, bending and stooping.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Velocity, Intellaquest or other similar programs highly beneficial.
