About The Position

The Project Geologist III (Environmental Geologist) position at Montrose Environmental Group is a remote role based in Washington or Oregon, focused on delivering environmental services. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards.
  • Experience with fieldwork including soil and groundwater sampling, drilling oversight, and remediation systems.
  • Proficient in data analysis and report preparation.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Geology or Environmental Science.
  • Professional Geologist (PG) license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with project management software.
  • Familiarity with GIS and environmental modeling tools.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and completing project deliverables.
  • Scheduling, reviewing field activities, and procurement.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and preparing cost estimates and proposals.
  • Planning and procuring all necessary equipment for project execution.
  • Performing fieldwork, including drilling oversight, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation oversight, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
  • Performing soil sample logging and collection and preservation of samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Processing and evaluating field and analytical data, including preparation of tables, charts, and figures.
  • Assisting in vendor management and procurement, including labor/material cost estimates.
  • Conducting project-related research, including document and file reviews.
  • Acting as a point of contact for clients.
  • Preparing operational permits and programs to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Ensuring environmental compliance of field and lab data with permits and regulatory standards.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends through training and professional development.
  • Practicing safe work practices by following company safety rules and OSHA regulations.
  • Participating in continuous improvement programs and providing support to team efforts.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
