Our Environmental Team is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to work out of our Traverse City, MI office. Your Impact Support a variety of tasks with the goal to develop technical, social and ethical skills. Conduct ground water and other field sampling events in various site settings. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is important. Position is 90% field and 10% office work and requires overnight travel within the State of Michigan. Overtime required, as needed. Must be able to work independent of others and as part of a team environment. Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation. Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Demonstrated interest in the geosciences and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others and ability to express ideas effectively and professionally.
  • Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship
  • Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator / Fit for Duty Exam / Medical Exam.
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training in accordance with 29CFR 1910.20 is desired, but will train, if necessary.
