About The Position

As an Environmental Field Technician at GHD, you will play a crucial role in supporting various remediation projects across northern California. This position involves hands-on work in challenging environments, where you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of remediation systems, sample collection, and ensuring environmental compliance. You will work closely with clients and contractors, becoming a trusted point of contact while contributing to meaningful environmental solutions.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in physical science, mechanical systems, or related field (relevant on-the-job experience may be considered in place of degree).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in remediation and Operations & Maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical diagnostic skills and aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently effectively and efficiently to ensure equipment is operating within normal limits.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Must have a California driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to analyze field readings, data and operating parameters to optimize system operations.

Nice To Haves

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
  • Experience with general construction and field safety protocols and equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front line operation & maintenance, start-up and troubleshooting for a variety of remediation systems such as soil vapor extraction and dual phase extraction.
  • Collect samples of groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, soil and remediation system process samples.
  • Conduct daily tailgate safety briefings, prepare field notes, and complete O&M forms/checklists.
  • Prepare environmental compliance documentation and monitor contractors.
  • Produce reports/specifications and interpret regulatory standards.
