As an Environmental Field Services Manager, you’ll: guide teams, support five municipal partners’ Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) programs and shape projects that protect and enhance our community’s natural resources. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field
  • Four years of experience in environmental health, environmental planning, inspections or engineering
  • Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Forestry, Environmental Science or related field
  • More than four years of direct experience in watershed management – erosion and sedimentation control, stormwater management or plan review
  • Possesses two or more of the following: Certified Erosion, Sediment and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI) Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC) Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) NCDOT Level 2 Certified Erosion and Sediment Control/Stormwater Site Manager Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ) Certified Stormwater Inspector Construction (CSI-Construction) Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater (QCIS) Qualified Preparer of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (QPSWPPP) EPA’s Construction General Permit (CGP) Site Inspector Training Certificate Certified Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI) Certified Designer of Sediment & Erosion Control (CDSEC)
  • Great written and verbal communication skills; explain technical concepts and negotiate with stakeholders
  • Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets and basic databases)
  • Skills in managing multi-party, multi organization projects
  • Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Customer service knowledge and principles with the ability to guide others toward organizational goals
  • Knowledge of sedimentation/erosion control and stormwater management principles
