The Environmental Engineer performs professional engineering work to protect or improve air, land and water resources in order to provide a clean and healthful environment utilizing a robust Environmental Management System. This work requires a professional knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of engineering concerned with facilities and systems for controlling pollution and protecting quality of resources and the environment. An understanding and the ability to utilize pertinent aspects of chemistry, biological sciences and public health that pertain to the control or elimination of pollutants are also major functions. Strong regulatory knowledge of federal, state and local laws is a must. Join a group of Environmental Engineers that are responsible developing and sustaining proactive management systems, checks and balances, and other necessary systems to ensure effective environmental compliance at the plant and facilities.
