About The Position

The Civil/Environmental Engineer with an environmental bkgd will be responsible for developing plans for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, water distribution mains, and sewer collection systems. This role involves performing hydraulic analyses of water supply systems and distribution networks to model flow characteristics, test for pressure losses, and identify opportunities to mitigate risks and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 6 Years of Study Design & Construction for Municipal Water/Wastewater projects
  • Civil Engineering Degree AND/OR Environmental Engineer
  • PE License

Responsibilities

  • Plan Development: Develop plans for new water or wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, water distribution mains, and sewer collection systems.
  • Hydraulic Analysis: Perform hydraulic analyses of water supply systems or distribution networks to model flow characteristics, test for pressure losses, and identify opportunities for risk mitigation and operational efficiency improvement.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies for the construction of facilities such as water supply systems, runoff collection networks, water and wastewater treatment plants, and wastewater collection systems.
  • Treatment Method Analysis: Analyze and recommend chemical, biological, or other wastewater treatment methods to prepare water for industrial or domestic use.
  • System Design: Design pumping systems, pumping stations, pipelines, force mains, and sewers for wastewater collection.
  • Facility Design: Design domestic or industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, including advanced facilities with sequencing batch reactors (SBR), membranes, lift stations, headworks, surge overflow basins, ultraviolet disinfection systems, aerobic digesters, sludge lagoons, and control buildings.
  • Engineering Documentation: Prepare and coordinate engineering reports, studies, calculations, and drawings.
  • Construction Phase Services: Perform construction phase services such as responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and overseeing contractors.
  • Project Coordination: Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work as part of major projects of moderate scope.
