About The Position

As an Environmental Engineer at Momentive’s Sistersville, WV facility, you’ll be the site’s key expert for environmental compliance and stewardship. You’ll lead critical programs supporting water quality, waste management, and regulatory compliance under NPDES, RCRA, and West Virginia AST regulations. If you’re passionate about protecting the environment while driving meaningful improvements in a manufacturing setting, this role gives you the opportunity to lead high-impact work, partner across operations, and contribute to a culture of sustainability. Please note that this role requires onsite presence five days per week, Monday through Friday Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering (or related field). Equivalent experience in environmental compliance or engineering will also be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in an environmental engineering, environmental compliance, or related regulatory role.

  • Experience in regulatory compliance under NPDES, RCRA, and West Virginia AST regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Environmental Compliance & Permitting Lead environmental compliance for hazardous waste storage, container accumulation areas, ASTs, and water discharges. Ensure compliance with all NPDES, RCRA, and AST permit requirements. Conduct operational area inspections and determine applicability of environmental regulations. Lead and support the modification, renewal, and implementation of water quality and RCRA permits.
  • Program Leadership & Continuous Improvement Develop and implement improvements to permitting programs and RCRA compliance processes. Identify new compliance requirements and translate them into clear, actionable guidance for the site. Partner with operations and sustainability teams to deliver waste-reduction and recycling initiatives. Serve as backup to the Wastewater Engineer when needed.
  • Reporting, Documentation & Agency Interaction Prepare and submit accurate, timely environmental reports and documentation. Coordinate drum and bulk waste shipments with approved transporters and disposal facilities. Engage with regulatory agencies to clarify or negotiate requirements and ensure site readiness. Provide technical evaluations on evolving water quality rules, standards, and policy changes.
  • Training, Collaboration & Support Develop and deliver training on environmental regulations, permits, and compliance expectations. Participate in internal and external environmental audits and lead corrective actions. Provide on-call support for environmental incidents on a rotational basis. Collaborate with operations and technical teams to solve compliance challenges and support ongoing improvement.
