About The Position

AECOM Water is seeking an Environmental Engineer for our Austin, TX office. The qualified applicant will have experience in water/wastewater engineering and construction management principles, will be familiar with the design, construction, and operation of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Performs portions of assigned water and wastewater biologic treatment infrastructure related projects Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving design calculations, preparation of technical memorandum, preparation of contract documents such as specifications and drawings Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments Provides guidance to graduate level engineers Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works Co-ordinates with other disciplines, sub-consultants, contractors and regulatory reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in teams
  • Flexible – can adapt to shifting priorities / work schedules
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering
  • Texas PE License
  • 4+ years of Treatment design experience
  • Participate as member of professional and technical societies

Responsibilities
