Requirements

  • BS in chemical, environmental, mechanical engineering, physical sciences, environmental science, or related degree, fertilizer industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree in certain cases
  • 1-5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to analyze environmental data, interpret regulations, and communicate requirements to non-environmental personnel in a clear manner
  • Federal regulatory knowledge including RCRA, CWA
  • Knowledge of Texas industrial waste, injection wells, and industrial stormwater permitting, ISO 14001

  • Professional licensing/credentials such as PE, PG, CHMM, CEM

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all water/waste permits and compliance including General Industrial Stormwater Permit, Class I Industrial Disposal Wells, Spill Prevention Control and Counter measures, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act SQG/LQG, and Texas Risk Reduction Program (Groundwater)
  • Prepare and submit reports including Annual Waste Summary, Texas Water Development Board, Quarterly Injection Wells, Injection Zone, and Discharge Monitoring Reports
  • Lead water and waste environmental program development, monitoring, and metrics for continual improvement.
  • Manage solid and hazardous waste streams including characterization, profiling, vendor scheduling, manifesting, and Treatment Storage and Disposal facility risk assessment.
  • Stay abreast of all water related federal, state, and local regulations Monitor for regulatory change, assess site applicability, and develop mitigation measures.
  • Support environmental incident investigations and associate corrective actions.
  • Serve as a liaison with external regulatory agencies and support regulatory inspections.
  • Assess water and waste regulatory and permit applicability for site projects.
  • Perform periodic environmental inspection/audits of the facility for compliance and conduct training of employees for site water and waste requirements.
