About The Position

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our Southern California Site Investigation and Remediation team. We are seeking candidates who will be able to immediately contribute to the successful delivery of existing projects and promote growth. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting, design, and implementation services to our key clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, civil, mechanical, or environmental engineering or related field.
  • 6 years of experience in environmental engineering consulting or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident; cannot sponsor for this role.
  • Valid California driver's license, subject to a motor vehicle records check.

Nice To Haves

  • 8 years of experience in environmental engineering consulting or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
  • Prior project management experience.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Advanced degree related to the position.
  • Prior experience managing direct reports.
  • Acquired or able to obtain PE certification within 12 months of accepting a position.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior technical resource and advisor for the team.
  • Provide specialized technical input to studies and design in specific areas of expertise.
  • Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality and cost-effective work by others.
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Complete discipline component of PS&E package using expertise.
  • Perform quality control review of deliverables.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Assist or lead proposal efforts to provide services or obtain funding for projects or programs.
  • Use client credibility gained from delivering high-quality technical services to expand work assignments.
  • Communicate with clients to discuss work scope, request information to support project implementation, and receive client comments on draft work products.
  • May have formal supervisory responsibilities and mentor staff through recurring meetings and assignments.
  • Prepare project deliverables using a team of more junior technical and support staff.
