AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer in our Industrial Remediation Practices group to support remediation system design and operations, soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The candidate will have prior experience in remediation system design and management/oversight of operations, maintenance, and monitoring. In addition, the candidate will have experience in data management and technical report production. The position requires strong multi-discipline technical and interpersonal skills and the ability to work productively both independently and collaboratively with engineers and scientists on a variety of remediation projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for this role.

  • Environmental water collection, conveyance, and treatment system engineering.
  • Stormwater and sediment and erosion control engineering and permitting.
  • Provide engineering and design support for private industrial and municipal remediation projects.
  • Develop, coordinate, and provide field oversight of pre-design investigations.
  • Remedial technology design (water / wastewater) experience.
  • PFAS related experience including investigation, treatment/remedial design, and remedial implementation.
  • Modeling and analysis of remediation performance and subsurface conditions.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource and advisor for the team.
  • Analyze data and prepare and review engineering related reports, plans, calculations, drawings, figures, and specifications.
  • Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule.
  • Interface and write reports to clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Plan and manage environmental field work, including remediation systems operations, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Support project managers with budgeting, schedule, scope development, and cost tracking.
  • Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays, with a commitment of up to 20-30% travel.
  • Implement project deliverable requirements of the AECOM Quality Management System.
  • Build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related field and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and criminal background check.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • FE or EIT is required.
  • Direct PFAS experience.
  • Masters degree or PhD in Civil or environmental engineering is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting and remediation system design.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
