AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer in our Industrial Remediation Practices group to support remediation system design and operations, soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The candidate will have prior experience in remediation system design and management/oversight of operations, maintenance, and monitoring. In addition, the candidate will have experience in data management and technical report production. The position requires strong multi-discipline technical and interpersonal skills and the ability to work productively both independently and collaboratively with engineers and scientists on a variety of remediation projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for this role.

  • Environmental water collection, conveyance, and treatment system engineering.
  • Provide engineering and design support for private industrial and municipal remediation projects.
  • Develop, coordinate, and provide field oversight of pre-design investigations.
  • Remedial technology design (water / wastewater) experience.
  • Investigation related to PFAS (studies, environmental media sampling, drinking water evaluation, water quality evaluation, groundwater monitoring).
  • Treatment / Remedial Design including feasibility evaluation of treatment technologies and pilot studies.
  • Remedial implementation including construction support, permitting, and design clarifications.
  • Operations evaluation of treatment performance and development of operation and maintenance plans.
  • Modeling and analysis of remediation performance and subsurface conditions.
  • Analyze data and prepare and review engineering related reports, plans, calculations, drawings, figures, and specifications.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule.
  • Interfacing and writing reports to clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Planning and managing environmental field work, including remediation systems operations, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Support project managers with tasks including budgeting, schedule, scope development and cost tracking.
  • Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and criminal background check.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • FE or EIT is required.
  • Direct PFAS experience.
  • Masters degree or PhD in Civil or environmental engineering is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting and remediation system design.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
