About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Engineer III to join our Remediation team in the Conshohocken, PA office. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients. The successful candidate will provide technical skills on projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team. The successful candidate will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System. The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm.
  • Working toward sitting for Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam.
  • General civil engineering experience.
  • Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and junior staff.
  • Experience as a Project Engineer on large-scale projects.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in development of technical proposals.
  • Coordinates and prepares written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyzes data and develops supported conclusions.
  • Familiarity with State (i.e NJDEP, PADEP, etc) and Federal Environmental Regulations
  • Understanding of environmental consulting, including remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and corrective action
  • Experience with CERCLA and RCRA remediation programs at complex sites
  • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced environmental engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
  • Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
