About The Position

As the Environmental Engineer, you will guide the site’s compliance efforts and support a safe, sustainable operation. You’ll manage environmental systems, inspections, and reporting. Your work directly influences the facility’s environmental footprint and performance. We provide a scheduled posting end date to assist our candidates with their application planning. Position offers a starting salary range of $78,000 - $100,000 USD Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field and 2–4 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, including air quality, hazardous waste (RCRA), stormwater, and spill response requirements.
  • Familiarity with environmental management systems, including ISO 14001 (environmental management) and exposure to ISO 50001 (energy management) or other energy-focused programs.
  • Ability to conduct inspections, sampling, and incident response related to hazardous waste, stormwater, and environmental housekeeping.
  • Experience preparing environmental reports and documentation, including required submissions to state, federal, or corporate entities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze data and present findings clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with regulatory agencies, operations teams, and corporate environmental partners.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including rotational weekend work and participation in spill response as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree concentration in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Management, or a closely related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience in environmental compliance or industrial environmental management preferred.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 systems, including audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Demonstrated success in energy reduction initiatives, waste minimization, and recycling program development in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Previous experience supporting or leading spill response, groundwater/stormwater sampling, and environmental remediation activities.
  • Experience representing a facility during state or federal inspections, including air compliance, hazardous waste, and stormwater.
  • Background working in large-scale or high-volume manufacturing environments such as automotive, heavy equipment, or textiles.
  • Strong ability to train, influence, and coach employees at all levels on environmental compliance and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with regulatory agencies to stay compliant and inform Management of impact on new laws and action plans
  • Perform plant environmental studies involving pollutants, waste handling and health
  • Research, collect data analyze and prepare federal, state and local reports as required
  • Assist in the coordination of hazardous and non-hazardous waste shipment from the facility
  • Promote and perform effective application of all environmental training programs
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly inspections and follow up for hazardous waste, storm water, and general housekeeping.
  • Assist with sampling efforts and protocols
  • Assist all management and supervisory personnel in the application of all environmental laws, regulations and programs
  • Coordinate environmental compliance inspections (air, water, RCRA, etc) with state or federal officials as needed.
  • Assist in follow up and completion of corrective actions
  • Implement/maintain environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001
