This professional staff position leads and supports compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, permits and approvals. The position will be responsible to develop and maintain Federal and state regulatory compliance programs; serve as facility subject matter expert for assigned media, including routine monitoring, investigating, analyzing, reporting (internal and external) and recordkeeping; communicate performance results to operations and other stakeholders; coordinate and notify emergency release and discharge reporting to appropriate agencies; manage and maintain assigned federal and state environmental permits, plans and approvals; prepare and deliver training and compliance procedures to stakeholders and supporting staff, develop and maintain technical competencies; and peer review other Environmental Staff's work for accuracy and completeness. The position will require routine interfacing with Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services, Project Engineering, other refinery department personnel and contractors, and periodic exposure to regulatory agencies and the public.
