The Environmental Engineering discipline uses principles of engineering, physical sciences, chemistry, mathematics, and biology to design and implement solutions to reduce and minimize impact on the environment from the Authority's operations. This includes design and monitoring of water and wastewater treatment, waste treatment and oil pollution control and countermeasures, and remediation. Major responsibilities include permitting, data analysis, inspections and monitoring of systems designed to protect the environment, and preparation of plans and reports certifying compliance with permit conditions and laws and regulations to regulatory agencies.
