About The Position
The position involves evaluating projects that alter the floodplain and determining their impact on natural resources and discharge characteristics of the affected watercourse under the authority of Part 31, Water Resources Protection, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA). Responsibilities include performing or reviewing engineering computations to establish flood elevations, answering inquiries from the general public and local officials regarding flood hazards, including violations, the permit review process, and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), as well as auditing local communities for compliance with the NFIP.
