Under limited supervision of a supervisory official in a state department, institution, agency, or local government agency, performs professional engineering work including but not limited to water management, air pollution control/management, noise pollution control/management, coastal resource management, hazardous/non-hazardous waste control/management; reviews engineering plans, makes determinations and/or recommendations on plans; field visits, inspections, investigations/surveys; gathers data, researches and analyzes information as it relates to environmental control work; and/or the enforcement of environmental laws and/or regulations; works with Environmental Impact Statements; does related work as required. Specific to the Position The Office of Resource Development (ORD) leads the capital development program for the State Parks, Forests & Historic Sites and Fish & Wildlife programs, supporting the implementation of tens of millions of dollars annually. The capital development program includes oversight of the planning, design and construction phases of a wide range of projects including facility renovations and new facility development through to construction, as well as responsiveness to health and life safety facility related needs, infrastructure renovations and development, historic restoration and natural resource stewardship projects. The Environmental Engineer 2 candidate reports to the ORD Administrator or other ORD supervisor and will assist in the monitoring, planning, development and review of projects with specific application of Environmental Engineer 2 job specifications. The candidate will also make field visits; inspections; surveys; gather data; research and analyze information; and undertake other related work as required.
